The outside premises could have been cleaned up. The room i stayed in had an extremeley strong smell of cigarette smoke although the sign on the doors said non smoking room.

Oaks Waterfront Resort. Reviewed: May 2009. #1318
The apartment was clean and neat, sufficiently spacious, well heated and the bedlinen was great. Not so the towels - small and thin. Reception staff were very helpful and couteous. The room was very quiet an although we did not expect a view we could in fact see across the inlet to the sea - very pleasant.
It was a very quiet weekend and the first of the school term so not much was happening. The local pub has good food and some entertainment, the Oaks has its own food service which was reasonable. Lots of good coffee shops, etc open in the daytime.

Comfortable and friendly
We enjoyed our overnight visit to Allamanda. It was a good half way point for our journey, the place was well appointed and the staff friendly. The pool was very inviting and if it had been warmer weather we would have enjoyed a dip.
The bed was comfortable and we had a quiet night except for being woken up very early (about 6 ish I think) by someone either filling or emptying a bottle recycle bin which was right outside our bedroom window. Another hour's sleep would have been good.
We would stay again, provided the bin siutiaton could be rectified as holidays is really the only time we get to sleep in a little!

We were very happy with our property and had a great stay. However, we were extremely disappointed upon checkout when asked to pay an extra per night for an additional bed for a 3 year old child. When we booked the property we were very clear in stating the number of adults (4) and children (3). The booking showed this number of adults and children and gave us a price for this, it therefore came as a great surprise to be asked to pay extra for our booking, we should have been told of this additional cost when booking not at check out time.
Additionally, when we arrived there were not enough beds and we had to call reception to organise another bed. We still feel strongly that the additional cost should not have been charged and that we should get this money back.
